About Akiyoshi-dai
Akiyoshi-dai is the limestone plateau that is the largest in Japan, located in central part of Yamaguchi, southwest Japan. Typical karst topographies such as pits, dolines and karrenfeld are found on this plateau. In addition, there is Akiyoshi-do Cave that is the biggest cave in Japan. It is a sightseeing spot, and a lot of tourists visit Akiyoshi-do Cave annually. About 400 caves have been investigated to Akiyoshi-dai, but there are many caves which are not investigated yet.Many cavers visit here to investigate and explore the caves.
